I've Reset My Blog Over Ten Times. Here's What I'm Changing This Time

Hi, I'm Shingo Suzuki, also known as Suzushin.

Suzushin Lab isn't my first blog. Far from it: I've repeated the process of creating a blog and resetting it more than ten times.

Since I wipe things after a few months, the articles never really accumulate!

Part of me wonders whether I'll do it again. But this time I'm trying a different approach, which I'd like to write about.

I've really reset my blog more than ten times

That isn't an exaggeration. For years, I'd get an idea, start a blog, update it for a while, then delete it.

I first started blogging at university. I knew nothing about SEO and wrote whatever came to mind in a diary-like general blog. There was no consistent subject, just whatever interested me at the time. Looking back, it's a little embarrassing!

I've repeated similar cycles ever since. Even I think, “Again?” But here I am, starting another blog, so apparently I haven't learned my lesson.

Why I really keep resetting

Looking back, the reasons are fairly consistent.

Losing direction

I'd often reach the point of wondering what the blog was even about. I'd drift from the original theme until everything felt unmanageable.

No traffic, and no clear reason to continue

This is a big one. When visits don't grow, I increasingly wonder whether continuing has any point.

I remember casually opening analytics during a period when I couldn't write anything. As expected, the numbers hadn't grown. Along with “Of course they haven't,” I felt my reason for continuing quietly disappear.

Feeling as though I'm talking to myself

This is the hardest part. When I start feeling that nobody reads the blog, it becomes like speaking to myself alone. Motivation plummets, and that's usually when I want to reset it.

What I've changed this time

First, I've refreshed the design for a new start.

But the bigger change is the system. I wanted to reduce the effort of writing articles and use AI to achieve things I couldn't manage alone. That was the main trigger.

As I wrote in my article about creating a Claude Code agent team, I've built support from brainstorming through writing and posting.

This time, instead of carrying everything alone and relying on motivation, I'm trying to create conditions that make continuing easier through a system.

I still worry I might reset again

Honestly, I can't promise I won't do it. A new design alone may not stop me repeating the pattern, and that worry remains.

Still, systems are beginning to cover some of the old triggers, such as struggling for ideas or not seeing traffic grow.

Build things up little by little

If I could say one thing to my past self, it would be: “Keep adding articles, little by little.”

Don't rush for immediate results. Steadily build. Writing this has made me realize that the theme from my introduction—taking on challenges and trying to turn my life around—also applies to running the blog itself.

If you've repeatedly given up too, I'd be happy if we could keep building a little at a time together.
